Alienware’s new Pro headset has a 75-hour battery, better audio

Alienware Pro Gaming Headset

Alienware today has announced its newest gaming peripheral, the Alienware Pro gaming headset, boasting exceptionally long-lasting battery life with improved audio and tons of other features.

The improved audio comes directly from the Graphene-coated drivers. This gives the headset the ability to deliver better directional audio. Most gaming headsets on the market use a different kind of driver that, while they might sound good, aren’t quite as apt at outputting directional audio as Graphene drivers. This makes the Alienware Pro headset somewhat unique, in that there’s really only one other headset we can think of that uses similar tech. The Logitech G Pro X 2 wireless headset. Although, those are full Graphene drivers and not Graphene-coated.

Still, the Alienware Pro’s use of Graphene-coated drivers is poised to offer some great directional sound. This will most certainly help those who play games like Call of Duty, CS2, and other games where footstep noise plays a factor in the gameplay. In fact, Alienware worked with several pro players to help get the design and functionality right. So much so that Alienware is aiming this headset at pro players, and those who play multiplayer games more competitively at a high level. That doesn’t mean this headset is just for pros though.

Even if you don’t fit into either of those categories, the Alienware Pro will still improve your gaming experience from a sound perspective.

The Alienware Pro headset can last for up to 75 hours on one charge

Battery life is always one of the most crucial components of how good or enjoyable a headset is going to be to use. No one wants to use a gaming headset that has to be charged all the time. If you have to plug it in every few days, it’s not the end of the world. But you definitely don’t want one that has to be plugged in nightly. The Alienware Pro will not have this issue, because it can last for up to 75 hours on a single charge. That means you should easily get a week out of it before it needs to be plugged in.

If not longer depending on how long your play sessions are, and how often you play each week. On top of that, this headset supports fast charging. So it’ll charge up quickly once you drain the battery down. Specifically, 15 minutes on the charger will get you 10 hours of playtime. Not bad at all. That being said, it is worth noting that up to 75 hours is on Bluetooth. Connecting via the 2.4GHz takes this down to 70 hours. And if you turn on the ANC, it goes down to 35 hours.

Multi-platform and multi-mode connectivity

As with most gaming headsets these days that are wireless, you can use the Alienware Pro with multiple platforms. That means it can be used on PC, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, mobile devices, and handheld gaming PCs like the ROG Ally X, Steam Deck, and others.

It also connects in three different ways. Following in the footsteps of Alienware’s Tri-Mode Wireless gaming headset, you can connect the Alienware Pro via a 2.4GHz low-latency adapter, or through Bluetooth or wired connections. This versatility makes it possible to use the headset anywhere. That’s a big part of why Alienware has changed up the design. The company said when talking with pro players about what they don’t like about some gaming headsets, the looks came up a lot. The design of most headsets makes it hard to wear them outside of the play area.

So Alienware addressed this issue by giving the Pro headset a more subtle look. It still represents the brand’s Legend design language too. This new more minimalist look makes the headset “street ready” the company says. So if you leave the house, you can keep the headset on, detach the mic, and connect the headset to your phone via Bluetooth. The headset also features Hybrid ANC so you can tune out ambient noise. The Alienware Pro launches this October for $230. It comes in Dark Side of the Moon and Lunar Light colors.
