Have you ever been in a situation where you couldn’t remember that one song but kept humming the tune of it? Fortunately, Google’s Song Search feature helps you search for a song just by humming the tune of it. Honestly, the feature is great. However, Google has been exploring new ways to make it easily accessible to users. Now, Google is reportedly rolling out a new way to access the Song Search feature via Quick Settings (QS) Tile on Android.
The latest Google app’s beta update brings Song Search Quick Settings Tile on Android
Folks over at 9to5Google today reported they could see Google’s Song Search Quick Settings Tile on their Google Pixel phone. The new way to access the feature is currently available with the Google app’s latest beta version 15.39.
If you are a beta tester of the Google app and have updated the app to version 15.39, you should see the Song Search QS Tile featuring a music note icon on your Android phone. We also tried joining the Google app’s beta program. Fortunately for us, we could update the Google Search app to the said version in just a few minutes.
Right after the update, we were able to see the Song Search Quick Settings Tile on our Android device. Once you tap the music note icon, it simply opens a full-screen page with a multi-color globe effect. That’s when you have to start humming to search for a particular song. You can check the same in the image attached below.
There are already a few ways to access the feature
Google recently updated its medium-sized customizable iOS Search Widget and added the Song Search feature to it. So, it seems Google has been already planning something similar for Android. Not to forget, that this Quick Settings Tile for Google Search-related feature is the first one from the company.
The new way to access Google’s Song Search joins all the other ways to currently access the feature available on Android. For the uninitiated, you could already use the Song Search feature through the home screen widget shortcut, Google Assistant or Gemini, and Circle to Search.
In addition, you could also use the feature on Android by tapping the mic icon on the Google Search bar. Moreover, the Song Search Quick Settings Tile should head to the stable channel in the coming weeks on Android.
