The iPhone 16 series of devices launched earlier this month, but in its regular fashion, Apple did not reveal battery capacities for the iPhone 16 models. We had to wait a bit for those details to arrive.
The iPhone 16 series battery capacities are finally known
All four smartphones do have larger batteries this time around. The iPhone 16 Pro received the biggest bump, a bump of 9.4%. The other three devices have battery capacities that are 6.X% larger.
The Apple iPhone 16 includes a 3,561mAh battery, up from 3,349mAh. The iPhone 16 Plus has a 4,674mAh battery, while its predecessor offered a 4,383mAh battery.
The smaller ‘Pro’ model includes a 3,582mAh battery this time around, up from 3,274mAh. And finally, the iPhone 16 Pro Max comes with a 4,685mAh unit, while its predecessor offered a 4,441mAh battery.
The Apple A18 and Apple A18 Pro processors are also more power-efficient than their predecessors, which is always nice to hear. So this could be a good combo, and based on what we’ve seen thus far, that is the case.
The devices also support faster wired & wireless charging
In addition to having bigger batteries, the new phones also support faster wired (38W) and wireless charging (25W). Do note that faster wireless charging is only valid for MagSafe charging, as Qi2 and Qi charging speeds remain unchanged.
All four iPhone 16 models are available to purchase starting today. The prices start at $799 in the US, though they’ll be higher abroad. In Europe, for example, they’re considerably higher, over $200 higher.
The iPhone 16 Pro models do have larger displays this time around. They also offer thinner bezels than the based models, in case you were wondering. The smaller ‘Pro’ variant has the same camera setup as the larger model, unlike last year.
