Lenovo is one of the leaders in the laptop market, but the company has dipped its toes into several pools. The company just launched a device that might make you think twice about picking up your Mac Studio. Lenovo just launched the new Yoga Portal. This is an elegant-looking cube of raw power.
What does the Lenovo Yoga Portal have to offer?
Looking at its shape, it’s evident that Lenovo is targeting the market gripped by the Mac Studio. These are tiny computers only measuring a few inches by a few inches. They can easily slip into a bag, sit under a monitor, or sit off to the side on a desk. They’re perfect for people who either have a tight setup or travel a lot.
The Apple Mac Studio is popular in a lot of offices that need an army of computers. Well, the Yoga Portal might fit that bill, both figuratively and physically. This computer is only 4 inches tall, which is minuscule. Looking at it from above, it measures only 7.7 x 7.9. This gives it a volume of 243.23 in³. It takes up about 11% more room than the Mac Studio (3.7in x 7.7in x 7.7in – 219.373 in³). So, there isn’t too much of a size difference.
Specs
What’s filling up that space? The Yoga Portal has the 14th-gen Intel core i7 accompanied by the Nvidia GoForce 4070 GPU. This seems to be the version coming to China. There’s also a global variant sporting the i9 and the GeForce 4060.
Ports
Moving onto the ports, this bombastic box boasts four M.2 slots. There’s one that allows you to add a dedicated NPU to give it some powerful AI smarts. Also, there’s one for WLAN and two for SSD expansion.
Along with those, there are six USB-A ports, a USB-C port, two HDMI 2.1 ports, an Ethernet port, four Displayport 1.4 openings, and a headphone jack. If you want even more versatility, there’s the option for rear storage with additional HDMI, DisplayPorts, or VGA.
We’re still waiting to see if this device will make it out of China. Hopefully, it does. It looks like a beast of a device. It’s expected to cost 17,999 Yuan ($2,500).
