Motorola could be planning to launch a new Moto G series smartphone soon. While the company hasn’t announced anything officially, the upcoming Moto G55’s alleged press renders have surfaced online. The reliable gadget tipster Evan Blass (@evleaks) posted some images of a Motorola phone, which he claims to be the Moto G55. Notably, this is the first time we’ve heard about this Moto G series offering.
Leaked images suggest the Motorola Moto G55 will be an affordable offering
The leaked images indicate that the Motorola Moto G55 will be an affordable offering. The device is expected to arrive as the successor to the Moto G54, which was launched in September last year. The images only show the Moto G55 from the front, which is quite similar to its predecessor.
If the photos are to be believed, the Moto G55 will offer highly narrow bezels on the sides and top. However, the phone’s bottom bezel will be a tad thicker, just like the Moto G54. The upcoming Moto G offering appears to have a hole at the top of the screen to house the selfie shooter.
Furthermore, the pictures show that the Moto G55 will sport a 3.5mm headphone jack at the bottom. It will be placed alongside the microphone, the USB Type-C charging port, and the speaker grille. On the left side, the device will have the volume rocker and the power button towards the top. Similar to the Moto G54, the G55’s power key is expected to double as a fingerprint sensor for enhanced security.
Moto G55’s specs are still a mystery at the moment
Unfortunately, there’s no word regarding the specifications and features of the upcoming Moto G55 at the moment. However, we can expect it to offer a more powerful processor than the Dimensity 7020, which powers the predecessor. Furthermore, the company could also upgrade the cameras and the charging speed in the new model.
Similar to last year’s G54, the G55 is also expected to be offered in multiple vibrant color variants. The device could go official at some point in mid-September or early-October.
That said, Motorola has teased the launch of another smartphone for August 29. The brand hasn’t revealed the name of the device. However, it is expected to be the Motorola Edge 50 Neo. The teaser suggests that the successor to last year’s Edge 40 Neo could be offered in multiple attractive colorways. The new phone is expected to be a mid-range offering with three primary cameras and up to 512GB of storage.
