The Motorola Razr 50s is now official, well, kind of. The phone has been announced silently, but not by Motorola. The culprit is Softbank, a Japanese carrier that started taking reservations for the device.

That listing says that the device will become available on September 27, so in a couple of days. It also does share the design of the phone, along with the colors, and we also know what specs come with the device.
First and foremost, this handset does look like the Motorola Razr 50. There’s no denying that, it’s the exact same design. The specs are a bit different, though, as the Razr 50s is inferior to the Motorola Razr 50 aka Motorola Razr 2024.
This smartphone is fueled by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300X processor. It features a 6.9-inch fullHD+ (2640 x 1080) main display and a 3.6-inch 1056 x 1066 cover panel. That cover display is actually quite spacious for what it is.
The phone comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. More RAM and storage options could become available elsewhere, we’re not sure. If we had to guess, we’d say that this will be the only variant.
Android 14 comes out of the box, while the phone is splash resistant
A 4,200mAh battery is also included in the package, and the phone is IPX8 certified for splash resistance. Android 14 comes pre-installed on it, while two cameras sit on the back.
A 50-megapixel main camera is located back there, along with a 32-megapixel secondary shooter. The Motorola Razr 50 has a 13-megapixel ultrawide camera on the back, so we’re not sure what’s going on here. It’s likely either an ultrawide or a telephoto camera.
The phone measures 171 x 74 x 7.3mm when unfolded, and 88 x 74 x 15.9mm when folded. It weighs 188 grams and comes in Koala Gray, Sand Cream, and Spritz Orange colors based on Softbank’s listing.
