Earlier this year REDMAGIC announced it would be branching out from gaming phones to gaming laptops, and what emerged was the Titan 16 Pro. A gaming laptop with an all-metal chassis and some powerful specs.
REDMAGIC has always prided itself on delivering powerful gaming phones that don’t cost as much as high-end flagships. The company has stayed true to that mission too. Its most powerful gaming phones are often several hundred less than the competing top-end gaming phones. With that in mind, the Titan 16 Pro promises to be a powerful gaming laptop at a reasonable price. It can come with either an RTX 4060 or an RTX 4070 GPU from NVIDIA and 16GB of RAM. Plus, the RAM is expandable up to 32GB if you need or want more. It also comes powered by an Intel Core i9-14900HX CPU.
REDMAGIC doesn’t skimp on the screen either. The Titan 16 Pro comes with a 16-inch 240Hz panel with a resolution of 2560 x 1600, with a brightness of 500 nits. Additionally, the laptop comes with 1TB of storage on the SSD. Now, 1TB of storage isn’t a ton once you start installing a bunch of games. But it’ll be plenty to get you started, and for some people, it may even be more than enough. There’s also the option of plugging in an external SSD to store games that way.
The REDMAGIC Titan 16 Pro uses aviation-grade aluminum alloy for the chassis
Aside from the price, one of the big factors that REDMAGIC is trying to draw attention to is the all-metal chassis. The Titan 16 Pro comes with what REDMAGIC says is aviation-grade aluminum alloy, so it’s going to have a very clean look to it.
The laptop also looks sort of thin, though not necessarily as thin as some in the Razer Blade or ASUS ROG Zephyrus lineups. REDMAGIC also says the Titan 16 Pro weighs about 2.4kg, which is just over 5.2 lbs. That’s pretty comparable to other laptops in this size range, albeit a bit thicker and heavier than some. And that’s likely due in part to the use of the aluminum chassis.
In terms of connectivity, REDMAGIC is giving you several ports to work with. There’s a USB-A port and an SD card reader on one side, then another USB-A port and a 3.5mm audio port on the other. Then on the back, you have a third USB-A port, a USB-C port, an HDMI 2.1 out port, and an ethernet port for wired internet.
The Titan 16 Pro launches on August 29
Now let’s talk price. The REDMAGIC Titan 16 Pro is launching in the US on August 29. It’s also coming to Mexico and Europe. It’ll be available from REDMAGIC for $1,699 in the Eclipse color. However, those who want to secure the laptop as early as possible will be able to place a down payment of $99 on it between August 22 and August 29. There will be a limited amount of those models available each day. If you can secure one, however, you end up getting a gaming accessories bundle worth $200. So there’s definitely an incentive to buy before the actual launch date.
REDMAGIC doesn’t state pricing for any additional models or colors. That being said, there are images REDMAGIC has shared that show a lighter color. There are also details about an RTX 4070 GPU variant. It’s possible that the US will only have access to the RTX 4060 model.
Either way, REDMAGIC is ready to burst onto the gaming laptop scene.
