REDMAGIC Gaming Pad benchmarks hint at 3.4GHz peak clock speed

The REDMAGIC Gaming Pad has recently shown up on Geekbench with benchmarks hinting at the upcoming tablet’s peak clock speeds. The Geekbench listing also shows off the single-core and multi-core scores for both versions of the device. For performance enthusiasts in the mobile space, this might prove to be exciting information. As it suggests that REDMAGIC’s first gaming tablet will be capable of some decent performance.

Interestingly, one of the scores is right around the same scores as other flagships with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. As for the peak clock speeds, according to the Geekbench listing, the peak clock speed for the REDMAGIC Gaming Pad will be 3.40GHz. This is said to be for the larger model. REDMAGIC will reportedly have two sizes of this device, and the smaller model appears to have a slightly slower clock peak clock speed of 3.19GHz.

This doesn’t necessarily mean much right now since it doesn’t give you a very good idea of how the tablet will perform while gaming. However, it does give some insight into what the tablets may be running. The Geekbench listing was spotted by MySmartPrice, which points out that the smaller tablet could be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. This chipset was used in high-end flagship phones from 2023. Including ASUS’s ROG Phone 7 Ultimate. This might also explain its lower scores in the benchmark for the smaller tablet model.

REDMAGIC Gaming Pad scores well in Geekbench benchmarks

Benchmarks aren’t necessarily the definitive picture of how well a device will perform. However, they do give you a sense of what the performance might be like for you. As we’ve started doing benchmarks for all of our device reviews, we did one for the REDMAGIC 9 Pro. This device also comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. And unsurprisingly it scores very closely to what is supposedly the REDMAGIC Gaming Pad.

In our testing, the REDMAGIC 9 Pro had a single-core score of 2299 and a multi-core score of 7174. The REDMAGIC Gaming Pad, the larger model at least, showcases similar results. Its single-core score is 2268 and its multi-core score is 7120. Adding further evidence to the likelihood of the tablet coming with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Of course, there is also the fact that REDMAGIC teased this detail earlier this week.

As for the smaller model, its single-core and multi-core scores were 2060 and 5675 respectively. For comparison, the ROG Phone 7 Ultimate’s scores were 2051 and 5764 when we did our testing. So it’s very possible that the smaller REDMAGIC Gaming Pad isn’t coming with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

Detailed specs are not present

As you might expect, the benchmarks don’t reveal any detailed specifications or features. That being said, REDMAGIC is due to officially reveal the Gaming Pad next week. So it won’t be too long before more is known about the specs anyway.
