Samsung Galaxy M55s launches with similar specs as its predecessor

Samsung Galaxy M55s

Today, Samsung has finally launched the Galaxy M55s in India. For those unaware, the Galaxy M55s is the newest member of Samsung’s M series family and the successor of the Galaxy M55 launched earlier this year. If you have been eyeing to grab this smartphone, let me tell you it has some decent specs as you would expect with any budget smartphone.

Samsung Galaxy M55s is finally here but it shares pretty much every specs of the Galaxy M55

The Samsung Galaxy M55s sports a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED Plus Infinity-O display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. It is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC chipset which we’ve been seeing in budget smartphones launching in India these days.

Talking of camera, the Samsung Galaxy M55s features a triple-rear camera setup on the back. There’s a 50MP primary camera with OIS and VDIS capabilities alongside an 8MP ultra-wide shooter and a 2MP camera for macro shots. In addition, there’s a 50MP camera on the front for selfies.

The Samsung Galaxy M55s packs a 5000mAh battery under the hood and comes with 45W fast wired charging support. On top of that, this Android smartphone also comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor. Notably, Samsung doesn’t offer a charger in the box alongside the device. Therefore, you need to get one by yourself.

You can grab the phone from Amazon and Samsung India website starting September 26th

As far as connectivity is concerned, this budget Android phone comes with support for USB Type-C, NFC, and most importantly 5G. As expected, the device boots Android 14 with One UI 6 out of the box. Samsung has also promised to deliver 4 major Android OS updates and 5 years of security updates for the phone. Let’s not forget that the Galaxy M55s also comes with Samsung Knox Vault as well as Dolby Atmos support.

While these are decent specs for a budget one, you’d be surprised to know these are quite identical to the Samsung Galaxy M55 launched in March. However, there’s one big difference in design that will draw everyone’s attention. The back panel of the device features three different textures which we haven’t seen in any other Samsung smartphones.

The Galaxy M55s is available in two colors – Thunder Black and Coral Green. The beefiest model with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage costs INR 22, 999. Whereas, the base model with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage will set you back by INR 19,999. Moreover, the smartphone will go live on sale on Amazon and Samsung India online store starting September 26.
