T-Mobile revives some of its promotional deals for veterans

T-Mobile last month stopped offering some promotional deals to segmented customer groups. This sparked complaints from these customer groups. Not just customers, but some T-Mobile employees were also unhappy with the telecom carrier’s decision. Following the uproar from consumers and employees, T-Mobile has revived some promotional deals for certain users aged 55 and up.

T-Mobile is resurrecting promotional deals for customers aged 55 and older

According to a report by Light Reading, T-Mobile is reviving promotional deals for all consumers aged 55 and older. These include military personnel and first responders. These consumers can get a discount of up to $1,100 on select plans. This is generally good news as people get better discounts. The publication reports that an anonymous source familiar with T-Mobile’s operations told them this.

The change is cited to not be a reaction from complaints by users and employees. It is said to be just another routine promotion the company offers for a particular demography. It is also not clear if the promotional deals are permanent or temporary revivals.

“We’re always updating the promotions we offer for new and existing customers,” a T-Mobile representative wrote to Light Reading. “Our 55+/ Military/ First Responder plans already deliver savings that are unmatched in the industry – up to 40% less compared to our normal rate plans – and now we are launching an additional new device promotion for customers on top of that.”

Deals are only available on the latest Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel phones

There’s a catch to the change in T-Mobile’s strategy. The promotional deals will only be available on the latest Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel smartphones. Unfortunately, the latest promotional offers are not available on the Apple iPhones. So not everyone aged 55+ will be able to take advantage of the deals. That said at least some of the veterans will be able to avail the deals on their Samsung and Google smartphones.

T-Mobile has been constantly changing its strategies from time to time. The company is also accelerating its 6G wireless technology. The company recently partnered with NVIDIA to integrate artificial intelligence directly into radio access networks. This will pave the way for the brand to offer 6G services in the coming months.
