The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is fast approaching, and Nintendo has a brand-new Switch OLED model prepared for the occasion. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Edition of the Nintendo Switch OLED will be launching ahead of the game, giving players time to get the console and get it set up before the game arrives. That way they can play it on their new Zelda-themed console.
Just like other game-themed editions of the console, this new Zelda edition of the OLED features tons of details based on the upcoming game. You’ll find markings on the back of the Switch itself, and the iconic Zelda logo on the front of the dock. The Joy-Con controllers also feature a gold color with Zelda designs to complete the package. Obviously, there’s nothing different about this model functionally compared to the original OLED.
But this would make a cool collector’s piece if you like collecting these sorts of things. Or it could be a great gift for the Zelda fan in your home if you wanted another Switch. Nintendo plans to launch this edition of the Switch OLED on April 28. So just a couple of weeks before Tears of the Kingdom releases on May 12. Presumably, you’ll be able to purchase it at most major retailers like Amazon and Best Buy. In addition to getting it from Nintendo directly.
Nintendo is launching two new Zelda accessories to go with its new Switch OLED model
For the ultimate fan and collector, Nintendo has two accessories that will partner with the edition of the console nicely. A carrying case and a Switch Pro controller. Both with the same style of designs and colors as the console itself. These aren’t launching till a little bit later though.
Officially they’re going to be released on the game’s launch day. So while you can’t get them the same day as the console, they will be available the same day as the game itself. As for pricing, the console will be $359.99, while the controller will be $74.99 and the case will be $24.99.
