Threads, Meta’s rival to Elon Musk’s X, is getting a major update. The latest Threads update will let you create multiple drafts and even schedule posts to be published at a later date. The newly introduced features are specially aimed at creators and businesses, the company said in a blog post.
Notably, Threads has also introduced a new feature called “insights”. It will help creators and businesses better understand their followers and measure the performance of their posts using a range of metrics.
Threads is getting the ability to create multiple drafts and schedule posts
Threads has announced that it has started rolling out the new ability to create multiple drafts. This feature currently lets you save up to 100 drafts as long as you want and post them whenever you want. Notably, Threads introduced the option to let users save a draft when creating a new post earlier in March. However, it only allowed users to save a single draft up until now. At the time, it was one of the most requested features of the platform.
Talking about the new schedule posts feature, the new Threads functionality will help creators and businesses plan their content. Users can schedule multiple posts per day or multiple days in advance. Threads will start testing the new feature to schedule posts in the coming days. If everything goes well, the Tweetdeck-like functionality is expected to be released to all users in the coming weeks.
Notably, the new features are only available on the web version of Threads at the moment. However, the company will explore the same for the app’s counterparts for mobile devices later on.
There’s also a new insights feature to help Threads users better understand their followers
Besides the multiple drafts and schedule posts functionalities, Threads is also getting a new insights feature. As per the company, it will help users better understand their followers. It allows measuring the performance of posts using many metrics. These include the number of views, replies, reports, and quotes on the posts.
Users can also see the evolution of their follower count over time and their demographics – including their age, gender, and location. The Meta-owned platform said that these metrics “can help creators and businesses figure out what content resonates best with their audience”. It will also help the users tailor future posts accordingly. This feature has also started rolling out on the platform’s web version.
