The Xiaomi 15 Ultra won’t launch anytime soon. The Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro launched a couple of days ago, but the ‘Ultra’ model is not coming until next year. Despite that, however, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra camera details just leaked.
The Xiaomi 15 Ultra camera details have just appeared
Camera sensors and some additional details of all five of the phone’s cameras have been detailed by XiaomiTime. If these are accurate, there’s plenty to look forward to, hardware-wise.
According to the source, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will use a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-900 camera sensor for its main camera. That is a 1-inch type sensor, and the same one that the company used in the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. Do note that variable aperture may be in the cards too.
A 50-megapixel ultrawide camera with Samsung’s ISOCELL S5KJN5 sensor will also be included. The third camera will be a 50-megapixel Sony IMY858 telephoto unit with 3x optical zoom.
The company will utilize a 200MP camera from Samsung for the phone’s periscope telephoto unit
The fourth, and last camera on the back, will be a 200-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL S5KHP9 camera. That camera will offer 5x optical zoom, based on the provided information. That will also be a periscope camera, by the way.
On the front, the device will feature a 32-megapixel unit. The sensor on the inside will be provided by OmniVision. We’re looking at the OV32B40 camera sensor from the company.
With that being said, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra was announced back in February. Chances are that the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will arrive around the same time next year, possibly during MWC 2025 in Barcelona.
In addition to a very compelling camera setup, with Leica’s lenses, this smartphone will also utilize the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, just like its siblings. A large battery is also expected, along with very fast wired and wireless charging.
The phone’s design did surface already, though we’re not sure how accurate it is.
